Onumonu's Reports

Biafra Movement - A Report (3):

A Report to the People's General,
Maazi Philip Effiong (Obong)

Which Way Forward?

*************
THE CIRCLE
When heaviest and threatening the clouds lie,
A glimpse of sunray pipes through only if we persist.
If we not the future read,
But strive to live a day at a time,
Maybe we one day may achieve,
The goal we may or may not know.

I have arrived shouts one.
I have all shouts another.
I am victorious shouts the next.

But deep within a lie,
For has he arrived or is the journey just begun?
Has he all or nothing?
Is it a cry of defeat or a cry of victory?
Victory?
Victory over what?
Himself or the foe?

Why fight?
Why not?
Why stand still?
Why not?
Why think?
Why not?
Why live?
Why not?

The circle closes.
The end.
The end?
Might be the beginning, who knows!

The question Maazi Effiong, then is, why spend inordinate amount of time on the history of a people, especially if at the end of the discussion the waters become more muddled? Just what is the point? Why waste our time? Why rehash a subject that has been talked to death? How are we sure that some of those who made major contributions will not be left out?

Maazi Effiong,
Tributes to General Philip Effiongas you already know, although this report is meant for you, you also share it with thousands or hopefully millions of our brethren who seek answers to the pressing problem of the possibility of the peaceful actualization of biafra, an impossibility in the minds of many. Hence it is important that this report be a means of answering the many critics who say, that the peaceful actualization of Biafra is impossible, and also make sure that those who seek and stand immovably on the truth and have no hidden agenda have no doubts about the direction of this revolution.

I do understand that there will always be those with ulterior motives but why should that bother us? As long as we make provisions in our plans to handcuff them and render their plans unreachable, more importantly use them to serve the goal of OHA, they should then become an assert instead of an albatross.

Nothing must be taken for granted where the lives and destiny of more than 100 million people is concerned. It is extremely important that the assumptions on which this revolution is built on be continuously revisited and questioned to prove that they remain valid. We must each continue to examine and re-examine ourselves to make sure that our goal has not changed from Collective to personal - Is the revolution still about the betterment of Oha or has it become a personal ego trip to immortalize and enthrone our-self? Are we still on target? If new information becomes available, how does it affect our mission and the assumptions on which the foundation of the revolution is built? Is it an open system where those who join can comfortably fit in knowing that their contributions, concerns and questions will be addressed and ideas taken seriously and carefully examined? Is there an effort to stifle the opinion of others because they do not agree with us or they do not belong to the elite (what ever that means) or is there a conscious or unconscious effort to build an inner circle to the exclusion of other brethren in the movement? Do we continually guide against the unconscious slippage into Messianic complex?

General, I for one, will not surrender the future of my children and their children's children into the hands of any, no matter how well meaning. Even as a very bad financial manager, I still continue to manage the meager income I make, why then should I have no say in the future of my unborn generations - TUFIAKWA! Yes, I intend to have my say and hopefully so do our other brethren in this struggle for the survival of the Igbo, no matter how unpopular the opinion.

Maazi, where survival of the Igbo nation is concerned nothing, again nothing, must come or stand in the way, those who loose sight of the goal must be pushed aside, friendship must become irrelevant and our focus must become completely tunnel!

By now General, it should have become apparent that this report is about the wondrous Work and Power of YAH, there is no other explanation. It is not about the contributions of individuals, the mention of some individuals is to show how Yah works through unexpected sources and also to show that if any individual forget that this is all the doing of Yah, they are moved aside and Yah picks others to continue His work - All Praise to Mighty YAH.

Our Igbo American brethren were also highlighted in this Report, for a very good reason, you knew where they stood, whether you agree with them or not. They were direct and you knew what they wanted! Does that remind you of Igbo?
Igbo from Ala Igbo have become so corrupted by our association with other nations that we have lost the quality of directness, we now speak out of both sides of our mouth, we scheme, tell lies, stab each other in the back and expect Igbo to bow down to us for every little contribution we make. In fact we have lost that unique quality that make us Igbo. Oh yes, we are good at quoting the philosophy and sayings of our fore-parents, we are good at speaking Igbo but we have no understanding of what we now write about, speak about and have forgotten what the truth is, we have become Pharisees.

Now when immense crowds had gathered together, so they were treading on one another, he began to say to his disciples, "Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.
But there is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, and nothing hidden that will not be made known.
For what you have said in darkness will be said in the light; and what you have whispered in the inner chambers will be preached on the housetops."

St. Luke 12 : 1 - 3

General, Igbo must relearn how to tell the truth and stand on the truth. Igbo must rediscover what to be Igbo is. That is the only way forward.

Yes Maazi, what I have witnessed in seven years since the inception of this movement can only be explained through the Divine Will and Intervention of YAH.
I am reminded of both "Igbo Landing" ceremonies, ask any of those who were involved in the planning. Despite the lack of funds among many other things, whenever something was needed or we ran into a roadblock, Yah sent a daughter or son to clear the path - All Praise to Mighty Yah.

Give glory to the Mighty Yah, for he is good:
for His mercy endureth for ever.
Let them say so that have been redeemed by the Lord,
whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy:
and gathered out of the countries.
From the rising and from the setting of the sun,
from the north and from the sea.

Psalm 106 : 1 - 3

It is important that this story be told and retold so that Igbo might know that with a Mighty Hand, YAH led His children out of bondage. It must be told and retold so that no one down the line will claim the praise that belongs only to Mighty YAH! How else could any explain how starting with two brethren, Yah pulled Igbo out of the depths of despair. How can you explain how a nation that had lost its manhood, a people who the world had turned its back on, a nation that had become a laughing stock, a nation whose leaders had become traitors, a nation whose culture and tradition had been turned upside down, a defeated nation, a nation where its component parts where trying real hard to distance themselves from any association with it, a disgraced and dishonored nation, a nation that had fallen apart and its center no longer held, a dead nation, a nation that was about to be absorbed by the Hausa-Fulani as the Fulani had absorbed the Hausa, how do you explain the renewed pride or the renewed vigor?

I am reminded of a prediction that was made when this journey began: "By the time this revolution had run its course, most nations in that British Birthed Abomination - Nigeria will try and prove that they are Igbo or have Igbo roots"!

Igbo Kweeeenu - YAH!
Kweeeenu - YAH!
Kweeeezuonu - YAH!
ALL PRAISE BE TO THE MIGHTY YAH!

Yes, Maazi Effiong, Igbo has arrived!

*********

I HAVE ARRIVED

No longer will I cover my eyes in shame.
No longer will I cover myself in ignorance.
No longer will I cover myself in self-pity.
No longer will I try to blend in with shadows and darkness.

I have arrived.
I raise my hand in victory.
I now know who I am.
I now am ready to take back my place in history.
I will no longer be ignored.
I have arrived.
Uhuru Uhuru Freedom Freedom.

When the brethren who started this movement got together, they understood that there was something about Igbo that the world was trying to cover up. How was it possible that more than three million people were massacred, a whole nation nearly erased from the face of the earth and it was as if it never happened? How was it possible that most of the superpowers including most of the Moslem nations lined up against a defenseless people? Just what were these nations afraid of? Why this hatred of the Igbo? The Igbo genocaust (holocaust and genocide) is probably the most documented in history, families sat in front their television and watched, hopefully, in horror as a whole nation was being wiped and starved off the face of the earth and yet could not influence their governments to stop this abomination. Christian-democratic countries got together in an unholy alliance with Moslem countries with one goal in mind - the total extermination of a Christian nation. Even the United States of America was un-moved by this slaughter despite the pleas of a few courageous congressmen and private citizens! It was as if there was a conspiracy of silence - as years passed by the memory of the heinous crimes against the Igbo by the Nigerian brutes and their partners was slowly but surely being wiped off the collective memory of the world.

General, other questions also arose. Why was Africa a basket case? How come most, if not all, African revolutions ended up in failure? We also wanted to know why some revolutions succeeded. What made a nation successful? How can we actualize an Independent Sovereign Nation of Biafra that will become the pride of Igbo, Africa, the Black Race and the world?
