Onumonu's Reports

Biafra Movement - A Report (1):

A Report to the People's General,
Maazi Philip Effiong (Obong)

by
Maazi Nnaemeka Mene Onumonu

Prologue

"Instead of surrendering Biafra, Effiong surrendered what he called "this country", and nowhere in the entire broadcast did Effiong name the country he was surrendering. The importance of that deliberate omission only became clear recently when the Biafra Liberation Movement (BLM) and other groups continued the struggle for Biafran independence."

~~~ Maazi Kingsley Nwankwo (BNW News)
*************
The People's General
When it was fashionable for Biafran leaders to deny Biafra,
You stood your ground.
When other Biafran leaders sold their souls and got in bed with Biafran/Igbo oppressors,
You stood with Oha at great cost to you.
You never wavered in your belief of the justness of the Biafran cause,
And when asked for Biafran surrender,
You surrendered a fictitious country called, "this country."
You were unapologetic in your stand and belief in Biafra's actualization.
You remained a Biafran till death.
Maazi Effiong - THE PEOPLE'S GENERAL, OHA claim you as their own.
Your feet might not have touched the Promised Land - "New Biafra,"
But your eyes, mind, and soul have seen "New Biafra" and its potential to the Black race and to the world.
Ndeewo, Great Leader, you will be missed!
The Biafra Movement  A Report (1)
About seven years ago, the re-implementation of the Biafran Revolution Movement was set in motion, a dream that we now realize was very dear to your heart as events have continued to show. Please accept this as an update, even if post-mortem.
The fate of Igbo and all the minorities that are at present being marginalized in the british birthed abomination of a country called Nigeria are interwoven, hence if you will allow me, although this report will be directed to and is about Igbo, the other nations can see it also as a reflection of their yearning for true freedom and/or independence.
Peaceful Actualization of Biafra:
As you already know, Biafra and Ala Igbo in particular has been under occupation by the nigerian vandals since the so called end of the Biafra/nigeria war. In fact the occupation has been so brutal that Igbo is gradually being marginalized out of existence. A plan of gradual strangulation that was put in place by the genocidal victors of that war continue to lay waste Igbo land, talent, her children and her vast human resources. The tradition and custom of Ndi Igbo have been turned upside down and abomination has now become the norm in Igbo land. Traitors continue to be put over Ndi Igbo by these animals who hate all things Igbo and are only interested in Islamizing Ala Igbo or converting Igbo to a slave nation if Islamization is not achievable.
After the genocidal war in which more than 3 million innocent Biafrans were either starved to death or out rightly massacred, a genocidal war in which but for the Grace of YAH, Igbo in Nne Ala Igbo (Igbo Land) would have been wiped out, Igbo was in no mood to put up an armed resistance. Her leaders had joined the oppressors of Ndi Igbo and had become house-slaves of these Igbo slave masters.
Under these circumstances any call for Igbo to start an armed resistance was doomed to fail, for the oppressors of Ndi Igbo had cut out the heart of Igbo, they thought.
The challenge then was not only to get Ndi Igbo to stop identifying with their oppressors but Igbo had to be convinced that there was salvation for Igbo outside the british birthed abomination nigeria, a Herculean task if left to the human imagination. But we knew that to Yah, all things are possible, even salvation for Igbo!
"Yah - Thou", "Yahnwe - Thou that owns", "Yahnweuwa - Thou that owns the universe", "Ama Ama Amasi Amasi - The Unknowable One" ,..., "Chi na Eke - God continues to Create" had an answer. Yah put the solution into the minds of Yah's children - THE PEACEFUL ACTUALIZATION OF BIAFRA.
Next we felt that that since the population of Igbo in Chicago was in the thousands and since we were already based in Chicago, all we had to do was carry this message to our brethren and all would be history. Were we mistaken, Yah had other plans. Not only did all our organizations in Chicago turn us down, we were even labeled mad, two brethren (A physicist and a sculptor) that had gone mad and were about to lead Igbo back to slaughter - We had to be stopped or discouraged by all means. Every organization was probably advised to avoid us.
If we were not able to get the ears of our brethren or work through their organizations, we would start an organization of two if we had to. Again Yah had other plans. He sent us an Igbo American (Maazi EzeNdubuisi - may Yah continue to bless you where ever you might be). An American that had traced his roots to the village that his fore-fathers came from in Igbo land, learnt the language, tradition and customs of Ndi Igbo, and was actively practicing the Omenala of Igbo even here in America. "If you will accept us as Igbo, we will be members of your organization", he said. You see he was part of an organization of more than fifty Igbo Americans. General, could you imagine our joy at the turn of these wonderful event, to go from practically an organization of two to in fact one of the biggest Igbo organization in Diaspora in an instant - Does Yah work in mysterious ways or what? In fact Maazi EzeNdubuisi played a major role in the drafting of the mission statement of Ekwe Nche, its uncompromising stance on Igbo/Biafra, a masterpiece if I might so say:
Ekwe Nche
(Igwe bụ Ike)
P. O. Box 408250                        A NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION
Chicago, Il 60640
Ekwe Nche is a worldwide based organization of all IGBO of American, Cuban, Haitian, Jamaican, African, etc descent. She is the vanguard of IGBO tradition and culture.
PURPOSES
To worship Almighty God, The Supreme Being, in accordance with IGBO culture and tradition;
To promote the Spiritual, cultural, educational, civic, social, literary, scientific and benevolent advancement of Ndi Igbo;
To conduct research in other to facilitate the accurate dissemination of information to be used to actively stop all forms and acts of genocide perpetrated and/or engaged upon IGBO people worldwide;
To strive for unity of Igbo around COLLECTIVE leadership models focusing toward the realization of IGBO pride and nationality;
To actively seek and prosecute all those responsible for crimes of genocide against Ndi Igbo and all those responsible for anti IGBO propaganda.
PLANS
IGBO CULTURE:  Establishment of IGBO house in every city where there are Ndi Igbo. To actively research, document and practice IGBO culture and tradition.
IGBO EDUCATION:  Establishment of IGBO schools in every city where there are Ndi Igbo, with a strong emphasis in speaking, reading and writing IGBO language.
IGBO FAMILY:  Re-establishment and emphasizing the IGBO family values and the upbringing of our children in IGBO ways.
IGBO LANGUAGE:  Establishment of IGBO newspapers, radio, television and cinema, theater, Internet and other communications services.
IGBO MONEY:  Promotion of the strong economic financial growth and success of Ndi IGBO worldwide with emphasis in establishing and developing IGBO banks, companies, industries, real estate, etc.
IGBO NATION:  Establishment of the Republic of Biafra based on Igbo culture, tradition and philosophy.
Yes, Maazi Effiong, since we could not use any of our existing organizations as a vehicle of this unique idea of salvation for Igbo, a new organization, comprising of Ndi Igbo worldwide - Ekwe Nche, was born. Yes, Igbo Americans have been in the fore-front of the struggle for the survival of Ndi Igbo and their way of life. To our Igbo American brethren we say Ndeewo, as you continue on your uncompromising stance to help salvage the way of life of Ndi Igbo in Nne Ala Igbo (Igbo Land) by standing by your family as the fight for the actualization of Biafra intensifies, and more importantly as we join you in your mission to bring the message to Igbo Americans about their roots, may Yah continue to guide us in this most important task for this mission will lead to the independent nation of Biafra based on Igbo culture, tradition and philosophy.
Medium:
Zik of Africa used the newspaper medium to carry the gospel of independence to Africa (nigeria). Not only did we not have that type of money, time was of the essence. The damage to Igbo was accelerating at such a rate that if nothing was done real soon the damage would be irrevocable. AS usual Yah came to the rescue. The World Wide Web was already in place and more importantly, the mother of Igbo discussion groups - "Igbo--net" was in place. We now had a medium to carry our message and goal of peaceful actualization of Biafra to Oha, and all it would cost was getting on the computer.
