In Venatius Ikems, reply
to Chris Ngige, he made a passing
comment on those who do not consider the labour and sacrifice of full time politicians (like himself and Chris
Uba of course), but only take delight in criticising them.
To be candid, I fall into this
category of Sidon de look and criticise fellows. I

do not belong to any political party neither did I vote in the last election even though I had wanted to. I could not vote because guns rather than cards were used as voting medium at the polling centre
nearest to me. As for belonging to a party, I do not envy Ikem and his PDP.
What is there to be desired? For the
singular act of trying to destroy Anambra
State, then PDP is not a political
party to belong to.
Is politics not about good governance
and service to humanity, and political party a platform to stand to do that? Is politics not
about development in all aspects of our human endeavours: education, power, transport, agriculture, health, industry,
etc? Then what development has PDP brought to
Anambra State
since May 1999? I do not know about other states, but in Anambra, we can define PDP as Power to Destroy the People.
Mbadiujus four years was like a nightmare because he was not man
enough to say no to the looting of the States funds by PDP stakeholders.
The bloods of Barrister Igwe, that of his wife and their unborn baby was shed for daring
to say that workers should be paid their salaries. Perhaps Ikem and his PDP do not know that one day; God will ask somebody about those
bloods and the name PDP will be mentioned because PDP was in power and their deaths was occasioned by the following;
- The misrule and looting of state treasury by the PDP led state government.
- Security was only for lives and properties of the looters
and not for expendables like Barrister Igwe and the general
public.
- The PDP National Leaders
like Ikem kept their mouths shut and never called the gangsters to
other. If PDP is for the people, Mbadinuju would have been forced to resign long before 2003 elections.
Was it not because they saw that
forcing Mbadinuju again on the people will be counter productive that they
reached a compromise?
Mr. President was not ashamed to admit
that he agreed to make Mbadinuju a Nigerian ambassador despite the misrule in Anambra State. Of course, I wont
be surprised, if Chris Uba or Ikechukwu Abana is made an Ambassador while people like Wole Soyinka should go to hell.
THE 2003 RIGGING
The truth was that anybody or even anything (may be a goat) contesting against any
PDP candidate would have won in Anambra State during the 2003 elections, because the people were crying
to God for a change.
The first PDP-four years was slavery. Truly, APGA won that election with landslide victory, but PDP bulldozed
their way. The rigging was not about Chris Ngige, rather it was done with the hope of continuation of looting the state funds and destroying the
land.
The truth is that if Ngige had agreed to the sharing of the States funds among the PDP stakeholders, he would not have had a moral problem with Mr. president; Chris Uba would have gotten many more titles across Igboland; there would have been no need for Arthur Nzeribe to be scheming for a state of emergency in Anambra State as there would have been peace. On the other hand, our schools would have remained shut; our roads
turning from death traps to grave yards; then the State generally and gradually destroyed.
That Chris Uba confessed to have rigged the election to me is a waste of time, because its no news. However,
to use the reason of the rigging to force Ngige to resign
at this moment is to me the greatest hypocrisy and wickedness of Ikems beloved
party.
It seems to me that leaders of
PDP are really determined to make sure that Anambra State is plundered to ruins. What we dont
understand is what we did to hurt them so much. I dont know if
Ikem knew Anambra
State to some extent (he is from a neighbouring state); at least,
he would tell the truth that under Ngige, the state
has seen a light of development. Ngige has achieved in less than two years, what other governors
and MILADs could not achieve since the state was created. The facts are there for us to see.
Ikem claimed that Ngige is the only
beneficiary of that transaction but that is far from the truth. The people of
Anambra State
are getting the greater benefits.
If PDP have another reason why Ngige must quit,
then let them explain to us, but if it is because he is riding on a stolen mandate, then he must not resign alone.
The President must show an example
by resigning first. The mandate that he is parading now, did he get that of Anambra people? No! The presidential mandate of Anambra people was also stolen or is it because Chris Uba has not confessed yet? We dont need his confession, we know. By the way, did I not read in the
newspapers that the mandate of Ogun State
people was given to Mr. President under some questionable circumstances? That the presidential election of that
State was declared null and void? So for the sake of morality as preached by Mr. President, what is he still doing
in Aso Rock?
Let Ikem and his PDP know that all the members of the National Assembly
from Anambra State
are all parading stolen mandates, hence let them all resign. The other day,
I read with interest in the papers that Ikechukwu Abana is to vacate his senatorial seat for Ben Obi, since he (Abana) was not even the PDP candidate. So can Ikem and his PDP explain to
us how Abana became a senator? Why must Ngige be pencilled down as the only one to go?
On the other hand, let Ikem and his PDP know that Ngige has won
the hearts of Anambra people. He has righted
the wrongs of Mbadinujus four years of slavery and has shown us that truly, government
can be for the people.
He is serving Anambra state very well,
rigging or no rigging and for that reason alone the people want him.
I wish that Ikem can go to Anambra State and attend a church service, go to a market, enter a bus or even stroll
on the street and then seek peoples opinion concerning Ngige, then he
would be shocked to discover that:-
The bitterness of PDPs first four years is still fresh in the hearts of the people,
The people are aware that Ngiges ordeal is as a result of his good use of the peoples money.
The people are thanking God for
a man like Ngige, who said no to the looting of the States funds and as
a result have touched their lives.
People like Chris Uba and anybody supporting him are seen like agents of darkness and enemies of the people.
The President and his federal
police force are also considered enemies for declaring war on the people. (Did Mr. President himself not argue
that wars are watched on television, thus what was the big deal that the destruction carried out by the enemies
of Anambra people was shown on TV?).
CONCLUSION:
Surely, Ngige did not get the peoples mandate through the ballot box, but he has gotten it now through good governance. If PDP is truly a Democratic Party for People, then Ngige should be given an award for making his party proud in trying to redeem their battered and ugly
image. Wole Soyinka incurred
the wrath of Aso Rock when he said that there exist in PDP a nest of killers, but the events in Anambra State have shown there are much more than that; there
exits a nest terrorists in PDP possibly more dangerous
than Osamas Al Qeada.
If Ngige must go,
then let Ikem and his PDP know that
the only way forward is to hand over to APGA. On the other hand, if they will play the Devils advocate conduct another robbery (I got that from
Mr. President) in the name of election and install another person (may be Chris Uba) other than Ngige comes in the name of PDP, then they should be prepared to spill more blood of innocent Anambra people; for the people will
resist another slavery in their own land.
It is not Uba versus Ngige , rather it is
state terrorism (occasioned by tyranny) riding on a monster
called PDP versus Anambra people. How I wish that Peter Obi and APGA will read the hand writing on the wall and support Ngige for now.
I wish Mr. President, Arthur
Nzeribe, Chris Uba, the Nigerian
police well. I equally wish all their supporters and sympathisers well. May they all prosper
and be alive to witness the triumph of truth and justice.
God bless Uche Chukwumerije and the rest of Nigerians identifying with us in this struggle
for freedom (in our fathers land). He will bless
Chukwuemeka Ezeife and the
few Anambra elders like him who are speaking up against this broad day rape of our land. He will bless and save
Ngige and those risking their lives working with him. He will
bless Anambra State.
