In a hot hot afternoon in the streets of Babylon
Was an assemblage of people in vengeance
As the shackles of enslavement was broken
Then came the sound of the hammer, 'tim-tim',
Pounding away those frustrating yrs of "gallowment"
Those lootings and the looters
Were mere expression of "libertad"
The figures we saw were the imitation of the reality
The very reality went into hiding
That hurt hot afternoon
After the masses failure to down the image
The great statue obstinatly and gradualy
Bowed to the power-that-ruled
Hulala! the great Iroko is fallen
Hurray! and the head to the street dragen
Could you believe, that image was ones deified?
And the pains shall by instalments be buried
"Alla-hamoudou-lilahi!" the yrs of chains are past
"Alla-hamoudou-lilahi!" and peace at last.
