Liste to "ogbunigwe" and you hears, 'doom-doom',
The cause of those cruel envoys of doom;
We suffered refuge in the evil forest in fear,
Afraid the 'abokis' with their bow may be near.

It started like a morning drizzle of rain,
Untill it engulfed into a noon down pour of pain;
In bitterness Mother grieved, as 'nna-m' bowed
to Odimujo's death call,
The voice of Emenike railed, cursing his "chi",
While bundled to heed the call.

Vultures were perching on our window panes,
Pigs were nosing and mating in our bans;
Hear the choking cries of infants that fell on deaf ears,
We crept amidts the wilds with hunger punched bellies,
Our C.Ps hung on our neck as we toed in horror,
To "espionne" where the 'malams' awaits to unleash their terror.

When the dreams of the Lords on the contrary excelled,
The perpetrators of the plague on their heels exiled;
Not bearing the fate of the radical intents,
Nor stood to challenge the challenges that challenged the intents,
While we the outcasts had to pay the highest prices,
As we ain't of the lineage of Royals and Princes.

"Our world, ain't our world,
Their world, O yes, their world".

By Kelechi Onuoha.
Few people have asked me if this poem is not a contradiction of my support fo a Biafran state. And my answer was ,NO. The poem comes in two parts. This part in part blames those who made us go to the war the time we did, without much preparedness, though the war was fought for a just course. And in the next part "she was incubated in agreation" strongly maintains that my believe in Biafra.
