Gregory Hines, the Tony Award winning tap dancer for the musical Jelly's Last Jam was best known for his roles in films such as "The Cotton Club" released in 1984, and based around the seminal 1920s New York Jazz club, in which he played Sandman Williams. He also starred in the 1985 thriller "White Nights" with Mikhail Barysnikov, and alongside Billy Crystal in the comic thriller "Running Scared.

Hines had his own TV show, The Gregory Hines Show, in 1997. MAY HIS SOUL REST IN PEACE.

First it was Sammy Davis Jr, now it's Gregory Hines. Rest In Peace!
