Yoruba athletes must stop disgracing Nigeria at international sporting events, such as the Olympics, World Cup, and other games.

IDOWU OUT AFTER TRIPLE JUMP FARCE

From Alex Spink

PHILLIPS IDOWU completed a disastrous evening for Britain as he failed to trouble the scorers in his quest to succeed Jonathan Edwards as Olympic triple jump champion.

Idowu could manage only three no-jumps and said: "The last attempt I ended up taking off my wrong foot. I tried my best to relax the whole time. It just did not happen."

Sixth behind Edwards in Sydney four years ago, there were high hopes Idowu would make the podium in last night's final.

But the 25-year-old Belgrave Harrier missed the half-way cut with an embarrassing blank beside his name.

He was even given an extra attempt to get it right after winning a row with officials over his second jump which he argued was wrongly called foul.

But rather than make it tell, he responded with another red flag to match his brightly coloured hair.

World champion Christian Olsson of Sweden won the event with a leap of 17.79m - 50 centimetres short of Edwards' world record.

The only good news for Britain was provided by Michael East, who reached the final of the 1500m as one of the fastest losers.

Calamity was not restricted to the British, however. American star Gail Devers, favourite to win the 100m hurdles, crashed out before she had even reached an obstacle.

The twice 100m sprint champion lasted just four strides before pulling up and falling to the ground in agony.

Even if these Yoruba boys don't want to respect their fatherland, they should respect the countries that gave them citizenship. It is disrepectful for a Yoruba boy to take this kind of Molue behaviour to Britain.

If it makes you feel good to take a swipe at every Yoruba man and action, please go-ahead. Even you (named Ekpo [Efulefu Smash] ) wants to feel good by claiming Biafran, pity! I'm sure you are not smart enough to notice the other Yorubas doing well across the world in other aspects, including sports. Instead of you guys to lets join hands and tackle a common enemy (the political class) you ended up personifying the enemy as Yoruba. Do you think you will ever win Yoruba sympathy by so doing? No! Do you need Yoruba sympathy? I know myopic people like you will say no! Wake up guys, the Yorubas are as aggrieved as the Igbo (I'm sure you'll have read that the OPC leader paid a courtesy call to Ojukwu and actually encouraged him not to respect sss's summons). Has the Yoruba been better off since Obasanjo's misfortune of ruling Nigeria? No. Do we have Igbo collaborators in Nigerian government? Yes! Wake up guys, we have a common enemy!

Olusolaa:

I am more interested in what you do when you represent Nigeria. Your tribesman Onigbinde almost wiped out the Super Eagles when he was head coach. Then, your athletes go around the globe bringing disgrace to Nigeria. The Yoruba controllers of the oil in Niger-Delta are creating one ecological disaster after another. They do not bother to clean up the mess they create. Do you want me to blame the Hausa man for that?
