If you went to sleep before the game ended last night, the American League Championship Series has a new king. Overcoming a 3-0 post season deficit, the Red Sox clinched a spot in the World Series after a 10-3 demolition of the Yankees and their mouthy fans. The "Evil Yankees Empire" crashed, and this morning, while New England celebrates, it's the Yankees and their fans who are left to answer the question "Who's Your Daddy?"

It's not over yet. To overcome the curse of the Bambino, the Red Sox must win the World Series. At 3-0 over St Louis, and with Pedro Martinez pitching so masterfully, I think the Sox are on their way to breaking the curse. Then again, the Yankees thought their job was done when the Sox were down 3-0, and we know what happened to that.

Up Sox! One could not follow the Sox/Yankees rivalry without taking sides. I took my side years ago after studying the two teams for a non-entertainment purpose.

De Caprio:

It is over now. The Sox have won the World Serieswon, and "the curse" is reversed. I guess. You are correct to point out that a World series victory was needed to reverse the so-called Bambina curse. I knew the Sox would roll over the Cardinals once the Yankees were out of the way.

Regarding the so-called curse, I do think that over the past 86-years, the Red Sox made some bad decisions, many of them bordering on the racist, that had more impact on the Sox fortunes than the so-called Bambina curse. But, that is topic for another discussion, except to note that if the Sox return to their old ways, they should have the decency to leave Babe Ruth out of it when the consequences come crashing on them, again.
