Police authorities yesterday said Otunba Iyiola Omisore, who is standing trial for the murder of former Attorney-General of the Federation, Chief Bola Ige, was arraigned based on his press interviews and public utterances. Submitting that police investigations did not directly link Omisore to the murder, a prosecution witness, Sergeant Adekunle Moses, who interrogated the accused senator reading excerpts from police progress report dated January 31, 2003 stated that the press interviews and utterances showed that the suspect knew more than he now claims to know.
