No One Safe: Robbers Attack Niger Gov's Convoy, Kill ADC A gang of armed robbers yesterday attacked Gov. Abdulkadir Kure of Niger State's convoy on the Minna-Lambata-Suleja road, killing his deputy ADC, Inspector Momoh Shagabe. The governor and other members of his entourage narrowly escaped death in the attack. The governor was on his way back to Minna from Abuja after an official assignment when his convoy ran into a roadblock mounted by bandits between Maje and Suleja... the robbers numbering about 20 hid in the bush at Maje junction, and on sighting the convoy started shooting into the long line of cars. This forced the convoy to make a u-turn to Suleja for re-inforcement. The governor�s security outfit led by the Deputy ADC, Inspector Shagabe returned to the scene to look for the robbers. A gun-battle soon ensued during which the police inspector was gunned down. Police foil alleged kidnap attempt   Presidency sets up special force on...   AUDIO   VIDEO An attempt by persons suspected to be dupes to kidnap Dr. Emeka Ngige (SAN) has been reportedly foiled by the police in Anambra State. Emeka, who is the younger brother of Governor Chris Ngige who narrated his ordeal to The Guardian, said that on Wednesday three men who identified themselves as Sam, Herbert and Darlington Wanti, found their way into his Choice Hotel room in Awka, the state capital. (Guardian)   A special task force comprising military and police personnel has been set up by the Federal Government as part of efforts to restore order in crisis-torn Warri, Delta State. Also, a security operation to begin the disarmament of the warring parties is underway. The Chief of Defence Staff, General Alexander Ogomudia who disclosed the setting up of the task force in a letter to the Delta State Gov.
