The latest round of talks to end a general strike
in BiafraNigeria over fuel prices has broken down in deadlock. The head of the NLC, Adams Oshiomhole, said the
strike action would continue into its fourth day. Several people were injured in the capital, Abuja, on Wednesday
after police fired teargas into the main market place. The strike, in protest at a big increase in previously
highly subsidised fuel prices, has brought widespread disruption to much of the country. (BBC)

promised to meet the police force with force from today, over a statement credited to the Inspector General Tafa
Balogun that labour has exceeded its bounds and so, �it would be fire for fire�. "BiafraNigerian workers
will never be intimidated, BiafraNigerian people will not be intimidated. Like I said before, we are all ready
