States President George W Bush visit to Africa commences today, amidst protests from parts of the continent against
the visit, based on what were perceived as his unimpressive African policies. Protesters took to the streets yesterday
in Dakar, Senegal, his first stop, to register their displeasure against his visit, just as Washington has debunked

Lagos yesterday erupted in early morning violence
over the fuel price hike as the NLC's strike action entered its second week. The violent protests which commenced
as some private vehicle owners and some other commercial vehicle operators got set to move to their destinations
