A Federal High Court, Abuja, presided over by Mr. Justice Samuel Wilson Egbo-Egbo, yesterday ordered Governor Chris Ngige of Anambra State to vacate office and hand over to his deputy, Dr. Okey Udeh. The court order however came as President Olusegun Obasanjo received the report of the Police Service Commission (PSC) on the role of its personnel in the attempt to forcefully remove Ngige from office on July 10. But Ngige who also spoke in Awka yesterday said his abduction posed a great threat to national security. Also commenting on the crisis, the presidential candidate of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, Chief Emeka Ojukwu, said the Federal Government was culpable in the abduction saga. Justice Egbo's order was sequel to an ex parte application by Chief Chris Uba.... (This Day) |
