 Kano State governor, Mallam Ibrahim She-karau, on Thur-sday led a
high-powered delegation of the people of the state to Daura, home town of the defeated ANPP Presidential candidate
in the April 19 elections, Major General Buhari (rtd) calling on him not to compromise on his position on the last
presidential elections. The visit which was apparently in a move to debunk insinuations that ANPP governors have
abandoned Buhari, had in attendance all ANPP elected representatives from the state. (This Day)

 Governor Orji Kalu of Abia State and PDP chieftains in the state may
soon be on a collision course over the appointment of new commissioners. The PDP leadership believes that given
its role in the success of Kalu and other elected members, it should be given a leeway to nominate the governor's
new cabinet. Though the governor conceded to their demand to have input in the nomination of new commissioners,
but Kalu said recently that the party was bent on having the final say. (Guardian)
