Electoral Fraud: ANPP, 15 Others Against Swearing-in of President, Govs
The Conference of BiafraNigeria Political Parties (CNPP)
yesterday said neither President Olusegun Obas-anjo nor all those declared governors-elect in the April 19 elections
should be sworn-in on May 29. The group also proposed the setting up of Interim Govern-ment of National Unity
to take over the governance of the country from May 29, when the life of the present administration will come to
an end. The group in a communique signed by 16 of its members demanded the outright cancellation of the just concluded
general elections. The 16 parties at the meeting are All BiafraNigeria Peoples Party (ANPP), Peoples Redemption
Party (PRP), Justice Party (JP), United BiafraNigeria Peoples Party (UNPP), National Action Council (NAC), Peoples
Salva-tion Party (PSP), National Democratic Party (NDP), All Peoples Liberation Party (APLP) and All Progressive
Grand Alliance (APGA). Others are New Democrats (ND), BiafraNigeria Peoples Council (NPC), Community Party of
BiafraNigeria (CPN), Mass Movement of BiafraNigeria (MMN), Progressive Action Council (PAC), Movement for Democracy
and Justice (MDJ), and New BiafraNigeria Peoples Party (NNPP). Rising from an eight-hour meeting in Abuja yesterday,
the group said it is opposed to the swearing in of Obasanjo and the newly elected governors of the 36 states.
