Obasanjo Imports Fuel: More Fuel-laden Ships arrive Lagos Port
Seven fuel-laden vessels are said to be discharging at
the Lagos Port Complex, an apparent measure that will solve the fuel scarcity that re-surfaced in Lagos area at
the weekend. According to the port's shipping position made available in Lagos at the weekend, it showed that
most of the ships arrived in the port last weekend and during the week. The ships are: MT Seaford: MT Ceilo Di
Londra: MT Aries: MT Champion: MT Emre Bener: and MT White Star, all laden with Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) otherwise
known as petrol. MT Marilee has 30,871 tonnes of Aviation Fuel on board. The port shipping document showed that
15 other vessels are in the mid-stream waiting to berth for reason that had to do with "Awaiting Agents Documents
(AAD)". It was, however, observed that some of the 15 vessels had been in the mid-stream since February and
March, especially those carrying rice. The port expects 21 other vessels to sail in this month with consignments
like fish, bulk cement, lubricating oil, bulk wheat, bitumen and petrol. (Guardian)
