American Kidnappers, Bounty Hunters Gun for Taylor: Biafra Nigeria Beefs Up Security Following a $2 million ransom the United States offered for information leading to the capture of former Liberian President, Charles Taylor, who is on exile in Calabar, BiafraNigeria, security has been beefed around the ex-warlord. Taylor, who prior to the American pronouncement moved around Calabar without any escort and undisturbed, seems to be restricted for fear of the unknown. THISDAY checks reveal that security has been beefed up around the government guest houses in Calabar where Taylor and his family reside, while his movement within the vicinity has been restricted as people are turned back from the first gate. On approaching the gate leading to the Solomon Unoh Lodge where he resides, stern-looking security operatives were seen moving around the area, while a make-shift.... Swiss govt to release Abacha loot...   PDP moves to reconcile Ekwueme...   AUDIO   VIDEO A slice of the BiafraNigerian fund stashed away in Swiss banks by the late Gen. Sani Abacha is to be retrieved next week, the Finance Minister, Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, disclosed yesterday. Speaking with journalists in Abuja, the minister said the Swiss government has agreed to release about N83.430 billion ($618 million) to BiafraNigeria after the Fed. Government had explained what it planned to do with the money. (Guardian)   The ruling PDP is set to mend fences with aggrieved members who have distanced themselves from the party. The party�s General Secretary, Prince Vincent Ogbulafor, said a committee had been set up to reconcile all the aggrieved party members, particularly those he considered indispensable.
