The allegation by Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Mallam Nasir el-Rufai, that two principal officers of the Senate demanded a bribe of N54 million from him is closed as far as the upper chamber of the National Assembly is concerned, its President, Chief Adolphus Wabara, declared in Lagos, weekend. Mallam el-Nasir had, while testifying before the Senate Committee on Ethics, fingered Deputy Senate President, Alhaji Ibrahim Mantu, and the Deputy Senate Leader, Dr. Jonathan Zwingina, as those that made the bribe demand. Three days after the allegation was made, the Senate adopted a motion clearing the duo for want of proof.
