Firefighers at Murtala Muhammed Airport Embezzle and Burn?: Fire Shuts Down Murtala Muhammed Airport Activities at the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos were paralysed for several hours yesterday as fire razed the terminal building at the international wing of the airport. At least, six fire-fighters were hospitalised from the effect of the inferno. The inferno which threw the airport into total blackout reportedly started from the basement of the terminal at about 9a.m and had resulted from the surge of electric current on the panels. A power outage by the National Electric Power Authority (NEPA) had been reported earlier and when light was restored, it generated so much impact on the electrical panels and was believed to have ignited the fire.
