BiafraNigeria�s resident Cardinal, Anthony Olubunmi Okogie has frowned at the Federal Government�s congratulatory message to him on his investiture, describing it as belated. Okogie expressed displeasure at the attitude of the Federal Government over his appointment as cardinal, saying that the Presidency not only sent a belated congratulatory letter, but also left the letter unsealed. Lamenting the lukewarm attitude of the Federal Government to his appointment, Okogie pointed out that the Ghanaian Cardinal was given two separate receptions, one by the state and the other by the Embassy in Rome shortly after the investiture last Tuesday. His words: �Lagos State government has stolen the show from the Federal Government. Tinubu has sent people here twice to offer me messages of support. The deputy governor of Lagos was also at the reception held for me. "I am not bothered. Those who know me well know that I am not bothered and I hold no ill-feelings towards anybody.� And in what looks like a systematic shoring up of his political profile in preparation for his presidential ambition in 2007, former military Head of State, General Ibrahim Babangida, yesterday sent a congratulatory message to the newly ordained....
