For the Shobowales, it was a bundle of joy yesterday as news reached the country that their co-joined twin children were successfully separated on Thursday at John Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, Maryland in the United States. The Siamese twins were born to Mr Davis and Mrs. Kikelomo Shobowale on July 16, through Caesarian section at the Lagos Island Maternity Hospital Lagos. Briefing reporters yesterday at Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos State Governor Bola Ahmed Tinubu said the operation was carried out at 10.30 a.m, local time, on Thursday. Tinubu, who was earlier briefed on the cheering news by his nephew, Dr. Sikiru Tinubu, who facilitated the arrangement leading to the separation noted that the operation which lasted for an hour was undertaken by a team of two specialist surgeons.
