Wild Wild West: Ibadan Godfather Adedibu Declares War on Ladoja A simmering disagreement between Oyo State Governor, Senator Rasheed Ladoja, and his political godfather, Chief Lamidi Adedibu, burst into the open yesterday as the strongman of Ibadan politics declared war on the governor. Adedibu, who made the declaration to a delegation of the Oyo State House of Assembly members who visited him in his Molete residence in Ibadan, described the governor as an ingrate, in an apparent reference to the role he played in installing the governor and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) administration in the state in the last general election. The Assembly delegation members, led by the Speaker, were taken aback at the sudden outburst of Adedibu, whom they cautioned against making such comments in the presence of newsmen. "Let them record me ... we are fighting Governor Ladoja as an ingrate. "He has forgotten those of us who worked tirelessly for his victory. "You (referring to the visiting legislators) recognise that I am still your father ..." Clinton seeks role for UN in Iraq   Gov Saraki dethrones ex-governor Lawal�s father   AUDIO   VIDEO Former United States President, Bill Clinton, yesterday cautioned the Bush Administration against dominating Iraq. Rather, he advised that the United Nations should be allowed a greater role in restoring security to the country it had invaded in defiance of United Nation's opposition. "We should play a role and spend a lot of money there, but we shouldn't dominate," Clinton said during a brief visit to the United Arab Emirates. "What we need is for the U.N. to nominally supervise the security situation and NATO to be used as an instrument,"... (Guardian)   The Kwara government has dethroned the Magaji Aare of Ilorin, Alhaji Alabi Alasa, father of the immediate past governor, Alhaji Mohammed Lawal. The government also downgraded all the obas and chiefs promoted last year by Lawal�s administration, according to an announcement by the state�s commissioner for local government and chieftaincy affairs, Chief Victor Oloruntoba, who told newsmen in Ilorin that "the stool of Magaji Aare is now vacant��. He said that all the upgrading of obas and chiefs done between last year and March this...
