Blame Saraki for Kwara’s political problems - Adisa

SINA FADARE

POLITICAL problems of Kwara State have been laid squarely at the door step of Dr Olusola Saraki, acclaimed political ‘godfather’ of that Middle Belt state.

Former Minister of Works and Housing and a major campaigner for the IBB for 2007 Project, Major-Gen. Abdulkarim Adisa (rtd) asserted this in an exclusive chat with Sunday Champion.

According to him, the "political slavery" has allegedly been the hallmark of the Ilorin politician in the past 30 years which the people of the state have nothing to show for it.

Kwara State has been involved in political crisis, rancour and acrimony in the last five years between the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and All Nigeria People’s Party (ANPP) which saw to the expulsion of Saraki, Senate majority leader in the Second Republic, from the ANPP.

PDP which has not known peace was last few months said to have expelled the current Minister of State for Health, Prince Funke Adedoyin, a decision the party’s National Working Committee of the party later reversed.

Adisa who disclosed that he did not have personal animosity against the godfather of Kwara politics but said he quarrels with (Saraki’s) "political slavery ideology".

"I quarrel with Dr Abubakar Olusola Saraki because of his culture of political slavery which has slowed down development in the ancient city in the last 30 years that he has dominated the political scene.

"Saraki is a local champion who has popularized the people of the state for so long. He did not teach them how to fish but, rather give them the crumbs of the fish. He should by now retire as an elder, not porknosing into the affairs of the state again. The people of Kwara would soon be liberated from his grip," he declared.
