Pandemonium over GSM killer numbers
SIR: The said killer/evil GSM telephone number that is causing so much havoc in the country now is nothing but a hype or farce.
The truth about the whole story is that some smart Nigerians with their foreign collaborators have been experimenting on some techniques to beat the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) to their own game. They (the hackers) are trying to find a way to access the various available networks through an unauthorised frequency, and in so doing, there would be a violent reaction which is caused by radioactive or hyperactive (abnormally active) sound. This in turn causes a brainstorm (violent mental disturbance) which eventually will result to brain haemorrhage (profuse bleeding).
When a new mobile phone is purchased, in the manual, there are various warnings about how it is to be used " that it must not be placed close to a sound system or a television set, also, that one should not put it too close to the ear or it is dangerous when put in the breast pocket or a shirt. Moreso, there is this foreign channel called "Discovery Channel" which shows a variety of programmes, and there is this programme tagged "The FBI Files".
Sometime ago I watched to my bewilderment how the FBI used high pitched sound through a mobile phone to eliminate defectors or enemies. I do not know what is really causing this pandemonium that some Nigerians have now concluded that the dead are hunting the living through cell phones. Such a conclusion does not hold. Also, Nigerians should note that this GSM technology is foreign, and indeed there is hardly any local input. Also, the makers of mobile phones would have issued a worldwide alert as was done when the makers of computers discovered that there is a virus that can affect computers.
Finally, let the professionals concerned (scientists and engineers) explain to the masses what it means when an unauthorised frequency is trying to gain access or signal through the legitimate available frequency/networks in terms of the kind of sharp and violent sound that would emanate.
