NSE Boss Wants Reintroduction of PTF, Toll Gate From Toba Suleiman in Abeokuta President of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) Engr. Mustapha Bulama, has urged Federal Government to reconsider the reintroduction of the scrapped Petroleum Trust Fund (PTF) and Toll Gate to ensure proper maintenance of the nation's high ways. The NSE president gave the charge while fielding questions from newsmen shortly after the inspection tour of the on-going dualisation of the Abeokuta - Sagamu road being handled by the Ogun State Road Maintenance Agency (OGROMA). Bulama, who led a team of engineers on the inspection visit to the state, explained that the reintroduction of these two bodies would assist in provision of enough funds for the maintenance of the highways across the country. While calling on all the tiers of government to make available enough fund to maintain public facilities, Bulama said "we need to set aside huge amount of money to maintain our roads." "We must accept the fact that in as much as we need to put a lot of money on road constructions in the country, we equally need to set aside a huge amount of money for maintenance of the roads," he added. He said this accounted for why the (NSE) was of the view that the current budgetary allocation by all tiers of government should make enough fund available to maintain public facilities.
