Speakers Seek Return of Ngige's Aides From Christopher Isiguzo in Owerri Conference of Speakers of South-east states Houses of Assembly rose from her meeting in Owerri, Imo State last Saturday, with a call on the Federal Government to restore without further delay, the full security details of Governor Chris Ngige of Anambra State. Ngige's security was withdrawn following an order by the Enugu High Court early this year. The conference took the decision in an eight-point communiqu� issued at the end of its four-hour closed door meeting at the Concorde Hotel, Owerri, insisting that absence of the governor's security apparatus had exposed him to a lot of danger and violated his rights to full security as a serving governor. In the communiqu� read by Imo State Assembly speaker, Mr. Kelechi Nwagwu, it considered in full details the Igbo presidency project and therefore urged the people of South-east both at home and in diaspora to unite towards full realisation of the laudable project. They hoped that the emergence of a Nigerian president of Igbo extraction would remove all vestiges of marginalisation against the Igbos, as currently observed in the country's body polity . They viewed as imperative, the need to revive and uphold the Igbo cultural heritage and consequently called on the governors of South-east zone to as a matter of expediency, revive any aspect of Igbo culture that fostered unity among Igbo states, especially the New Yam festival.
