Refer Case to Appeal Court, Ajadi Pleads From Lillian Okenwa in Abuja Following judgment of the Court of Appeal sitting at Ilorin, Kwara State, which nullified his election into the Senate last year, Senator Sulaiman Ajadi has asked, a Federal High Court, Abuja to make an order referring the case to the Court of Appeal. Hearing in the matter begins Wednesday within which parties in the suit would have been served with the necessary court processes. Ajadi is specifically asking the Court to refer the matter to the Court of Appeal for the determination of some questions arising from the jurisdiction and the decision of the election petition tribunal. On July 8, the Appellate Court affirmed the decision of the National Assembly/ Govern-orship And Legislative Houses Election Tribunal sitting in Ilorin by declaring Simeon Sule Ajibola, of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), as the duly elected senator representing Kwara South Senatorial District. Consequently, Ajadi is challenging the constitutionality of the tribunal on the basis that it performed the dual role of sitting over petitions arising from National Assembly election as well as petitions from Governorship And Legislative Houses elections.
