Kwara Warns Land Owners over Undeveloped Plots From Tunde Sanni in Ilorin Kwara State government at the weekend blew hot giving owners of undeveloped landed property three years to develop such property or forfeit them to the government. The state Commissioner for Lands and Housing, Mr. Kale Belgore, who issued the yellow card, said such undeveloped landed property is stalling the development vision of the government. Kale at a post council media chat stated that owners of the undeveloped property are not allowing government to know the extent of virgin land for investment, saying the undeveloped property has been turned to a goldmine by land speculators who used such to dupe unsuspecting prospective land developers. "At the council meeting, we resolved that such trend should no more be in vogue in the state. Henceforth, any landed property that is undeveloped within three years will be taken over by the government," he warned, adding that "the system of land speculators putting up notices on any undeveloped landed property and using such to deceive the people will no more be condoned." The commissioner also hinted on the 350 housing units of government at Adewole Estate, saying on completion, the Estate shall be a model in the country. He revealed that the houses would be subsidised by government to make them attractive and affordable to prospective owners.
