Crisis Hits IBB Group in Bayelsa From Okon Bassey in Port Harcourt The proposed visit of the National Solidarity Coalition (NSC), the harmonisation body for the presidential campaign of the former military President, Gen. Ibrahim Babangida (Rtd.), to Bayelsa State on Thursday is tearing politicians in the state apart. The bone of contention is the sudden hijack of the hamonisation group's visit by the Governor's aide, who has concluded arrangement with NSC to visit the state on Thursday, August 5. A seven-member harmonisation team in collaboration with the Coalition Movement for Justice (CMJ), Bayelsa State branch had proposed a visit to properly harmonise all the over 10 pro-IBB campaign groups operating in the state. But Chief Perekeme Richard-Kpodoh, a former governorship aspirant under the All Nigerian Peoples Party (ANPP), regretted that while they were working hard to ensure the success of the visit, Mr. Abel Ebefomowei, a cousin to the state Governor, Dieprieye Alamieyeseigha, went behind to hijack the arrangement. In a statement in Port Harcourt, Kpodoh, who is also the state co-ordinator of CMJ, added that the said Ebefomowei assisted the governor to present Vice President Atiku Abubakar during the later's visit to Bayelsa State as a presidential candidate and solicited the people's support for him.
