2007: Delta Group Plans New Strategy From Jaiyeola Andrews in Asaba Following the order slammed on elected officers from Warri prohibiting them from participating in the Equity 2007's call for power shift by Delta State chapter of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP ), the group has devised another way of recruiting market women, students, artisans among others to carry on the campaign. A top offficial of one of the proscribed group, spoke to THISDAY in Asaba at the weekend under condition of anonimity, said the group has been meeting at close door to ensure that their goals and abjectives are not truncated come 2007. " As I am talking to you now, there is a meeting going on in an undisclosed venue. We are committed to the entrechment of the principle of power shift in the state come 2007, and nobody can stop that," the source averred. The source hinted that it was only fair and equitable to allow either the North or South Senatorial districts has a shot at the governorship position come 2007, stressing that the call for power shift was never at anytime confrontational as being perceived in some quater, adding that it was a case of "giving a dog bad name." The controversies trailed the call for power ship as championed by Equity 2007 led to the proscription of the core group by the party on the ground that the campaign was heating the polity in the state.
