Lawmaker Donates N3m Worth of Equipment

In partial fulfilment of his campaign promises to the people of his constituency, a member of the National Assembly from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Ogun State chapter, Hon Kayode Amusan has donated equipment and trade tools worth over N3 million to assist in boosting their petty trading.
In his address during the distribution of free empowerment materials to members of his federal constituency in Abeokuta North, Odeda and Obafemi/Owode Local Governments of the state, Amusan explained that the materials were meant to empower "our people in the constituency."
Some of the materials distributed during the ceremony include eight new motor cycles, two popcorn machines, two television sets and refrigerators.
Other items distributed included sets of roofing sheets and 240 cutlasses, speaking further, the lawmaker said about 72 female party members were equally given soft loans of N5,000.00 each and after sale credit of two cows to the popular "Aso Rock Boys".
Describing the ceremony as the second in the series with the first one held in December last year, Amusan said rather than donating his six months salaries in cash like before, he decided to expend the salaries on trade equipment and tools.
"The equipment and tools are worth more than five times my six months salaries. I sincerely believe that if this opportunity is well utilised, it will go along way in ameliorating the sufferings of our people", he explained.
He assured members of the party, who were yet to benefit from the donation, that in no distance future, they too would benefit.
"Definitely, every member of our party will have his/her share of the dividends of democracy," Amusan assured.
On his yearly scholarship award, Amusan prayed that nothing would disrupt the on-going scholarship award extended to "our undergraduate children in various institutions of higher learning"
He expressed delight over the laudable achievement recorded by State Governor, Otunba Gbenga Daniel in the past one year.
According to him, in the past one year, the Governor has been able to impact positively on the lives of people of the state through road construction, employment generation, rural health care delivery system, educational development and other people-oriented projects.
He specifically commended Daniel for the establishment of Ogun State Road Maintenance Agency (OGROMA), whose presence he said, had been felt simultaneously in the three senatorial districts of the state.
