Mr. Biggs Aims to Be Nigeria's McDonald
The incoming managing director of Nigeria's leading brand in the fast food sector Mr. Biggs, Mr. Chris Adedipe says he is set to take the brand to another level by making it a Nigerian brand, the way McDonald and Coca-Cola are synonymous with the United States of America.
Mr. Adedipe who takes over from Mr. Larry Ettah made this statement during a cocktail party organised by So&u; Saatchi & Saatchi honour of both himself and Mr. Ettah.
While showering praises on Mr. Larry Ettah and the So&u; team for a job well done, he said that the fact that his predecessor has taken the brand from just 20 restaurants to 91 including, Ghana in two years with the creative ingenuity of the So&u; Saatchi & Saatchi team is enough conviction that the brand can achieve the desired height during his management of the brand.
Describing Mr. Biggs as an hyper -active brand, Larry Ettah who has been promoted executive director in the UACN group said that the brand can only be managed by hyperactive brand managers with perfect chemistry of brand managers . He further stressed the importance of relationship in making brands thick and successful, which has been the story of Mr. Biggs and So&u; Saatchi &Saatchi.;
Recalling his most challenging period as managing director of the brand , when a newspaper story was sponsored alluding that Mr. Biggs uses pock meat, Mr. Ettah gave kudos to So&u; for coming out with the copy: "There Is No Meet In Pock Story" which was one of the most potent campaigns used to debunk the vicious lies. He enjoined the So&u; Saatchi & Saatchi team to put the entire campaign strategy during this crisis period together as case study for students and practitioners of marketing communications.
Managing director, So&u; Saatchi & Saatchi Udeme Ufot described the agency's relationship with Mr. Biggs as an initially shaky relationship which ended up as one of the most challenging accounts of the outfit that it has enjoyed working with , coupled with the hyper -active nature of the brand.
Other brand personalities at the event are: the president of the Association of Advertising Practitioners of Nigeria (AAPN), Kola Ayanwale; Fanta' senior brand manager, Sam Edoho who eulogized the duo of Messrs. Ettah and Adedipe having worked with them in the past, among others.
