SAN:Senators Celebrate Ndoma-Egba's Award From Kola Ologbondiyan in Abuja Senators yesterday celebrated the last Monday's conferment of Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba with the prestigious Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN). The celebration began immediately senators started assembling in the hallowed chamber of the senate for the proceedings, which commenced at about 10.20am. Most of Ndoma-Egba's colleagues, who arrived the chamber early already and were aware of the news took their respective turns to his seat bowing and hailing SAN! amid shouts of "congratulations!" Deputy Senate President, Alhaji Ibrahim Nasir Mantu, who presided over the session, formally announced the conferment of the award to his colleagues on the floor of the senate. Mantu described the appointment of the Vice-Chairman, Senate Committee on Solid Minerals as "heart warming because for the first time in the legislative history of Nigeria, I'm happy to announce that a senator, in person of Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba, has been considered worthy, recognised and awarded the highest honour in legal practice, the Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN)." As Ndoma-Egba rose from his seat to take a bow, he got a lrousing applause after which the Senate went into a closed session.
