Wyclef Arrives Today for Guinness Concert All is now set for the reception of Wyclef jean, the hippop international superstar today. During his visit to Nigeria for the Guinness BlackGold concerts, Wyclef ]ean will be treated to a showcase event featuring talented up and coming Nigerian artistes. The evening, which is jointly organised by Guinness Nigeria Plc and the Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria (PMAN), comes up at the Expo Centre of Eko Hotel and Suites tomorrow. The special Nigerian welcome is being scheduled to demonstrate the versatility and talent of Nigerian artistes to the visitor and thank him for his support in performing for the first time in Nigeria and Africa. It will be a forum to promote Nigerian talent in the entertainment industry locally and internationally. PMAN executives at the event will be led by its President, Charles Oputa, aka 'Charlie Boy'. Speaking on the rationale for the show, Charlie Boy said: "the Guinness BlackGold Concert tour, featuring Wyclef Jean and Femi Kuti, as well as other talented Nigerian artists, will set a precedence for Nigeria in the staging of international concerts and will lead the way in creating greater opportunities for international events in the future." He lauded Guinness Nigeria Plc, for working with PMAN as the umbrella body of musicians in the joint aim of boosting the entertainment industry in Nigeria. "This is a new era for music in Nigeria and demonstrates how by working in partnership with promoters and corporate organisers such as Guinness Nigeria Plc, we can learn from the international stage and artistes such as Wyclef Jean," he said.
