Masari gets traditional title tomorrow All roads will tomorrow lead to the ancient city of Katsina as the cream of the Nigerian society are expected to converge to witness the turbaning of the Speaker of the House of Represe-ntatives, Alhaji Aminu Bello Masari, as Dallatun Katsina by the Emir of Katsina, Alhaji (Dr.) Muha-mmad Kabir Usman. A member of the National Organising Committee (NOC) for the ceremony, Alhaji Bature Umar, told Daily Trust that the list of distinguished invited guests include President Olusegun Obas-anjo, Vice-President Atiku Abuabakr, enate President Adolphus Wabara and the Chief Justice of the Federa-tion, Justice Muhammad Uwais. Also expected are all former presidents and heads of states, members of the National Assembly, minist-ers, state governors and the speakers of all the state Houses of Assembly; chieft-ains of the political parties, captains of indus-tries, religious and other opinion leaders as well as serving and retired military and other security agencies. Top shots are also on the invitation list. Foreign lawmakers from some African and European countries have been invited with “a number of them having indicated their intention to attend,” he added, disclosing that already, some of the invited guests have started arriving in Katsina since Thursday. Meanwhile, the Secretary of the Katsina Emirate Council, Alhaji Sanusi Kabir,- has said that preparations have been completed to make the event a very successful and memorable one, adding that the turbanning of Speaker Masari is expected to be one of the biggest and most attended turbanning ceremonies ever in the state.     TO NEXT NEWS PAGE...
