Osun Won't Rename Bola Ige House - Deputy Gov From Hammed Shittu in Osogbo Osun State government at the weekend said government would not rename the new Governor's Office named after the slain Minister of Justice and Attorney-General of the Federation, late Chief Bola Ige. The Special Adviser to Governor on Labour Matters, Comrade Peter Ade-Ajayi, while featuring on a radio programme in the state recently called for the renaming of the building following the alleged financial mismanagement discovered by the present government perpetrated by the government of Chief Bisi Akande that built the new office. But the state Deputy Governor, Erelu Olusola Obada, during the "Open Forum" programme aired on the state radio and television in Osogbo, stated that government was not thinking of renaming the building. She noted that "Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola is a sound-minded person that would not allow sentiment to becloud his reasoning," adding that "Governor Oyinlola would not say that since there was alleged financial scam on the project built by Chief Bisi Akande on Bola Ige House then decided to rename the edifice." Her words: "Let me tell you that Chief Bola Ige is a political icon and a leader and government would not say because there was alleged complicity on the project then decided to change the name." She stressed that "what is happening on the matter does not concern late Bola Ige and we should not involve him on what is not concern him," observing that the issue at stake is purely on Chief Bisi Akande and not late Chief Bola Ige." Obada stated that government would continue to provide all necessary impetus that would move the state forward.
