Group Makes Case for Assembly Service Commission From Saka Ibrahim in Gombe National President of Parliamentary Senior Staff Association of Nigeria, Mr. Charles Uzordike, has advocated for the establishment of Assembly Service Commi-ssion throughout the country. Uzordike, after paying courtesy call on the Gombe State Deputy Governor, Hon. John Yoriyo, told newsmen that Assembly staff throughout the country are floating. According to him, the establishment of the commision would be an encouragement to the workers, explaining that only three states had passed the Assembly Service Commission Act. Said he: "You see there is no association in this arm of government. We are trying to establish it and solicit for Assembly Service Bills. Presently, all our staff are drawn from all the arms of government. So, we need the commission in order to protect our workers. "We hope that the executive arm will assent to the bill. Presently, Edo, Adamawa and I think Akwa Ibom have ascribed to the bill." Uzordike, who explained that the arm supposed to be independent, urged government to assist the association with funds and logistics. The state deputy governor assured the association that the state government would soon passed the commission's bills.
