We Love Our Consumers, Says Guinness MD Lagos Guinness Nigeria's Managing Director, Keith Richards, has explained why his company decided to package Guinness Stout in a unique and contemporary bottle. Richards said the company was responding to the feedback from Nigerians that they wanted a modern bottle. "As a result of democracy, Nigerians now travel a lot. Television, internet and other latest technologies are daily exposing them to news things that are happening all over the world," he explained. The new and unique Guinness bottle was revealed at the exclusive Guinness BlackGold concert held at Ocean View, Victoria Island, Lagos last weekend. It is the first time since Guinness was introduced in Nigeria that Guinness has changed its bottle shape and label design. The new look is contemporary and stylish and a reflection of the modern Guinness consumer in Nigeria. The taste of Guinness Stout will remain the same. While Guinness Stout was the headline act of the Guinness BlackGold celebration concert, entertainment was provided by international superstar Wyclef Jean, who had been flown in especially for the event by Guinness Nigeria Plc. Richards, said: "I am delighted to reveal our new bottle which is designed to reflect the lifestyles and aspirations of Nigerians today and in the future. The new bottle is modern, yet retains classic elements of the design that consumers know and have loved for over 150 years. It will ensure that the experience of drinking Guinness continues to be the best of any stout and beer brand in Nigeria.
