Pensioners Assured of Prompt Payment Gombe From Saka Ibrahim in Gombe Gombe State Government has promised prompt payment of workers pensions after retirement. The Head of Service, Alhaji Yakubu Lidani, at a send forth for the retired Permanent Secretary, ministry of Water Resources, Mr Gad Aluke, and a director in the ministry Mrs Dora Johns, also, said government would expedite action on the payment of workers gratuities after leaving service. According to Lidani, the Danjuma Goje administration had soft spot for workers and would continue to encourage them in order to get high productivity. Said Lidani "We assure you of prompt payment of pensions after retirement from the service. Government will also try to pay workers gratuities." The Commissioner for Water Resources, Mr David Albashir, urged civil servants to endeavour to reach the retirement age of 35 years. He advised government workers to avoid dismissed or query while serving in order not to spoil their record. Said Albashir "I am happy that our permanent secretary and director voluntarily retired after attaining 35 years active service. I want others to follow suit."
