Wema Bank Introduces New Product Following on the recent successful launching of its Wema Open Plan Account described as a multi-benefit saving product, Wema Bank Plc has again announced the introduction of an e-banking product, named Wema Virtual Airtime. A statement issued signed by the bank's Senior Manager, Public Relations, Mr. Eddy Ademosu explained that Wema Virtual Airtime was an electronic means of purchasing GSM recharge cards/vouchers through the use of the SMS facility on GSM phones. According to him, prospective subscribers of the new product could have 24 hours access to GSM recharge vouchers, anytime, anywhere without stress. Ademosu said that for the existing customers of the bank, prospective subscribers would only need to send a SMS to the bank's Mobile Banking Line which will be used to communicate a Personal Identification Number (PIN) to the subscriber. "With the PIN, subscribers could obtain single, double and multiple orders of vouchers on any of the GSM lines; VMobile, MTN, and Globacom. The format of vouchers sent to subscribers allows for automatic recharge of phones," he explained. He added that "for nonaccount holders of the bank, subscribers could visit any of the nearest branches of the bank nationwide and pay a minimum amount for the required denomination of voucher, using Wema Virtual Airtime Account. The statement further explained that the new product readily affords subscribers to check their account balances after transactions and allows users to order GSM vouchers for loved ones. Ademosu asserted that the new product had been tested and found reliable, convenient, cheaper and easy to use. He urged all customers and noncustomers to patronise the new product, Wema Virtual Airtime by visiting any of the bank branches for enquiries.
