'Holiday Programme to Influence Children Positively' Ebonyi From Chinedu Eze in Abakaliki Wife of Ebonyi State Governor, Mrs. Eunice Ukamaka Egwu, has said the experience being garnered by Ebonyi children from the vacation programmes of her office would definitely contribute to their career choice in future. Addressing the 68 children, who participated in the national holiday programme on their return at the Government House, Abakaliki, Mrs. Egwu expressed joy over the success of the programme and commended the leaders of the team. Mrs. Egwu used the opportunity to advise the children to utilise the lessons of the visits to aspire higher in their chosen careers in life and not to be carried away by their excursion to Abuja, Kaduna and Jos. The governor's wife assured that the children vacation programme has come to stay, as it was the only way to expose Ebonyi children and eliminate their rural orientation. She said the selection of the children through examination from public schools was to forestall the possibility of favouring the children of the wealthy in selecting children for the programme and counselled the children to be highly disciplined and show shining examples to their peers to encourage them aspire to be like them.
