Owu Day Festival for August 13 Ogun From Toba Suleiman in Abeokuta The 2004 edition and the fifth annual Owu Day Festival, Abeokuta would hold between August 13 and 15 and all the Owu sons and daughters both home and diaspora have been enjoined to attend so as to use the forum to discuss issues relating to the development of the people and the communities. A release signed by the Chairman Planning Committee, Bashorun Doja Adewolu, stated that President Olusegun Obasanjo would be the chairman and chief host. Adewolu stated that the Ogun State Governor, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, is expected to be the special guest of honour during the three-day festival. According to the programme of events, the celebration would begin with Jumat service at the Owu Central Mosque, Apo, Abeokuta at 1.00pm on August 13, while the main celebration takes place the following day at the usual Olowu Coronation Ground, Ita Iyalode and finally a thanksgiving service on August 15 at Owu Baptist, Church, Totoro at 10.00am.
