Oyo Govt to Probe 3SC

The Oyo State Government has concluded plans to probe the Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) for "performing below expectations in the ongoing Premier League".

In an exclusive interview with www.kickoffnigeria.com in Ibadan on Monday, the Chairman Oyo State House of Assembly Committee on Sport, Hon Tunde Olaniyan a.k.a Akoro, said the House was ready to probe the club.

"The House has concluded plans to probe the players and the coaches because it was alleged that the match against visiting Plateau United of Jos was a sell out. We have also got hints on a particular coach and player involved in this malpractice.

"All indications point to the fact that most of these players are not committed, which may lead to sabotage and we are not ready to allow this, we won't fold our arms.

Hon Olaniyan nevertheless believed that the club can still weather the storm to stay afloat in the Premier League by the end of the season saying, "3SC won't go on to relegation".

Meanwhile, the General Manager of the club, Chief Adegboye Onigbinde, cut short his trip to Germany and Ghana for FIFA/CAF Seminar to attend to the problem facing the club at home.

Chief Onigbinde told Kick Off Nigeria that he returned to the country at the weekend to put his house in order.

"I ought to have been in Ghana for a CAF programme, but I had to return home because of the problems facing the club now. I believe no player, coach or administrator would like to fail in their mission, I believe all will be well very soon."

He says that some club sides who are ahead of 3SC in the league now, had at one time or another lost at home and heaven did not fall. He believes that what happened on Saturday should not have warranted the action fans meted to his technical crew and players.
