We're Committed to Boosting Agric - LCCI President By Opeoluwa Fujamade The President of the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), Chief Olusola Faleye, has restated the commitment of the chamber to the creation of employment by boosting the agricultural sector. Speaking during the closing ceremony of the chambers, Food, Drinks and Agriculture Fair in Lagos at the weekend, Faleye explained that the chamber was committed to stirring up the agricultural sector with a view to stepping up the pace of development of the entire economy and creating new jobs. "The Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry is committed to the promotion and development of the agriculture and agro-allied sectors of the economy. This derives from our conviction that these sectors have great potentials to propel the economic development of this country," he said. "There are also huge prospects for these sectors to create jobs and alleviate poverty. Specialised exhibitions would continue to be annual events in our calendar as we endeavour to bring into focus the numerous investment opportunities in various sectors of Nigeria's economy. We therefore look forward to the regular participation of our distinguished exhibitors," he added. Faleye stated that the success of the fair was a positive step towards the revamping of the agricultural sector which is till date is an ailing sector in the Nigerian economy.
