Facility Management Reduces Financial Loss-Experts

Economic losses in the nation's financial system can be stemmed through the development of skills and
principles in facilities management and maintenance as a managerial function, experts have said.
Speaking at the weekend, a team of Facility Managers said there is need to impart latest skills and knowledge in information systems that are peculiar to facilities and maintenance management. To help managers develop these skills, an International workshop with the theme "Mastering Facilities Maintenance Management" will be organised by Buildwell International Company Limited to help them cultivate the human resources competencies required for effective facilities and maintenance management culture in the respective organisations of participants.
This event is the Second in the series of facilities management workshops being organized by Buildwell International Company Limited and it is billed to take place from Tuesday September 21, to Thursday 23 September 2004 at Federal Palace Hotel,
Ahmadu Bello Way, Victoria Island, Lagos. Another objective of the workshop is to assemble Managers who have direct and indirect responsibility for facilities management and maintenance management and encourage
them to rub minds on how to cultivate a sound Maintenance Culture in their respective Organizations, said Engineer Afolabi O. Adedeji, Coordinator of the workshop, at the weekend. Adedeji said it would also impart knowledge and techniques required to carry out preventive and predictive maintenance to avert the breakdown of critical equipment and Machinery.
Participants from all walks of life would rub minds on the current state of the art on facilities management in the country.
They are expected to agree on the types of skills, knowledge and attitudinal changes that are essential for the emerging field of facilities maintenance management programmes.

Maintenance Programmes and Techniques; Sustainable Development,the Environment and the Facilities Manager.
