Gulf Bank to Boost Business Activities in Ondo

Gulf Bank Plc has registered its intention to boost business activities in Ondo State through the provision of funds for business owners, in line with it's on-going effort to the develop businesses in parts of the country.
Chairman of the bank, Major-General James Oluleye (Rtd), who disclosed this last week during the formal opening of the Akure Branch said the bank has decided to help contribute to the socio-economic lives of the people of Ondo State.
"The decision to establish a branch of Gulf Bank in Akure is borne out of our desire to bring modern banking services to the good people of the state as well as to contribute in our own little way to the enhancement of the socio-economic development of the town in particular, and Ondo State in general", Oluleye said.
He added that the bank recognizes and appreciate the fact that Ondo State is blessed with abundant resources, minerals and human, which remains to be tapped effectively, adding that "we therefore, hope to further harness and enhance the human and economic potentials of the state through the provision of efficient banking services."
In his remarks, Ondo state Executive Governor, Dr. Olusegun Agagu while the declaring open the new branch of the bank commended the Management and Board for there serious-mindedness, steadfastness in completing the branch building within record time.
Agagu, who was accompanied to the occasion by his deputy, Otunba Omolade Oluwateru, other top government functionaries and local government chairmen, pointed out that the commissioning is positive development, saying it will contribute towards the economic growth and development of Ondo State.
"We no doubt believe that the formal opening of this beautiful edifice will not only add to the on-going beatification programme of Ondo, but is also a positive contribution towards the economic growth of the state in general," he said.
Managing Director/Chief Executive officer of the bank Mr. Babajide Rogers in his speech, thanked the Government of Ondo State, his home state, for the support given the banks so far, while assuring that another branch of the bank will also be opened in Ondo Town in the coming month.
Rogers reiterated the commitment of the bank to support the Governor in his programmes aimed at transforming the state through financial assistance for business projects of entrepreneurs in the state.
He noted that the opening of the Akure branch brings to three, the number of branches opened in the past three weeks, adding that four more will be opened in the next few weeks to conclude the banks branch expansion programme, of seven additional branches to its branch network.
