Taribo West moves to Qatar Nigerian defender West has joined Al-Arabi of Qatar in a one-year deal. Taribo West has had a torrid time with his former clubs after he was layed off in Germany, before he teamed up with Partizan Belgrade of Yugoslavia. In Yugoslavia, he also had problems with the team and left in uncertain circumstance. He was also dropped from the Super Eagles team to the last Nations Cup because of injury. He had expressed his desire to return to the Super Eagles and this new move will help him to make a bold return to international scene. But coach Christian Chukwu has said that West would have to prove that he is good and fit before he can be considered for the National Team again. "He is a charismatic player with vast experience," Khalefa El Nasr, executive board member of Al-Arabi said. West is expected to fly to Prague at the end of the week to join his new side for a pre-season camp. The 30-year-old defender, known for his outlandish haircuts, has  been released by Serbian side Partizan Belgrade.       Copyright� 2002.
