AWKA— ANAMBRA State Chapter of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has lamented that the people of Anambra State have not enjoyed democracy dividend on account of the protracted political crisis in the State as it has called on Governor Chris Ngige to initiate a genuine move to resolve the crisis.
The party said that rather than enjoy democracy dividends, the government through “unnecessary deceitful sycophancy and false claims of having done this and that”, and called on the people of Anambra State to always ask questions. In a press conference, the party’s State secretary, Chief R.O.C Okpalaoka, the party wondered why “the people of Anambra State are submitting to this endless deceit coming from left and right, while the correct and real action are taking place at the centre, why can we not ask questions”.
“We must think of what our people are going to benefit as democracy dividends like other States of the Federation where the electorate and the people who actually suffered for their respective PDP governments are benefiting and not the unnecessary deceitful sycophancy and false claims of having done this and that with attendant propaganda machinery of so-called solidarity visits by those who are trying to harvest in the field where they never sowed seeds.
“It has also come to the confirmed knowledge of the State secretariat of PDP that those siphoning directly or indirectly from the State treasury and who never know how we laboured to put this present State government in place do not want any peaceful settlement of the Anambra crisis and they also have their very carefully hidden agenda to collapse the Anambra PDP with the help of some parrot-legged members of Anambra PDP litigating without the due process or respect for the PDP constitution”, Okpalaoka said, and called on Governor Ngige to resolve the crisis immediately for the progress of the State.
Okpalaoka also called on the Governor to hasten up to conduct the local government elections in the State and to accept the list of party candidates for the election approved by the party’s national headquarters.
