The Spokesman of the command DSP Babatunde Shodimu speaking on the ugly incident that occurred at Asipa Village Odo-Ona Elewe in Ibadan stated that the undergraduate student “is currently in police custody”.DSP Shodimu, however, hinted that the suspect may be charged to court for allegedly murdering his own mother after the completion of police investigation into the matter.His words, “we are presently investigating the matter to know the real cause of the killing”. ”He has committed murder and he will be charged to court after the investigation. The suspect is presently in our custody we have arrested him” DSP Shodimu said. The undergraduate student, it would be recalled was al! leged to have killed his mother on Wednesday at Asipa Village near Odo-Ona Elewe after a quarrel.It was reliably gathered that the middle aged student had engaged his mother in minor disagreement in their house and consequentially threatened to kill her if she did not meet his demands. The mother, a staff of the Oyo State water Corporation was said to have ran out of their house when she could no longer handle the situation.Sesan, as the suspect is popularly called was said to have followed his mother with knife and within seconds, he caught up with his mother and killed her with the knife in the process. But in an unusual manner, Sesan was said to have licked the blood on the knife with which he killed his own blood. As a result of the ugly incident, residents of the village quickly invited policemen at challenge police station to the scene of the incident.
