Group Decries Igbo Marginalisation From Onyebuchi Ezigbo in Abuja Movement for the Actuali-sation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) has expressed concern over what it alleged as grave marginalisation of people from the south-eastern region of the country by the Federal Government. The group's Abuja Zone 11 Command in a statement signed by its Chief Commissioner of Mobilisation, Mr. Ejim Okoro and Commissioner for mobilization Prince R. K. James claimed apparent conspiracy to deny people of Ibo extraction employment opportunities in sensitive Federal Government Ministries, Agencies, Commission, and Paratatals. It also alleged that Igbos have been target in the series of destruction of lives and property in various locations of the country. "It has become very unfortunate practice, whether in Lagos, Kano, Kaduna, Sokoto, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), that Ibos are often made the real target for most of the destructions embarked upon either by the various state governments or the Federal Government", the group said. It questions the rationale for excluding Ibos from appointments in such positions as Inspector General of Police, Chief of Defence Staff, Chief of Army Staff, and Chief of Air Staff respectively.
